Shower Tile Material: Townscape – Dark gray 12 x 24 (floor tile); Townscape – Light gray 12 x 24 (wall tile); Black pebble stone (shower floor tile); mosaic tile as accent trim.
This particular bathroom remodeling project was both a challenge and a lot of fun. The client asked that we hit a mark that was not too contemporary, but didn’t feel tired and dated like a traditional bathroom. As part of the project, the client asked that we:
- Completely remove the bathtub
- Update the bathtub/shower combo into a walk-in shower with a shampoo insert
- Modify the drywall and repair any irregularities
- Build a knee wall beneath the window with a ledge for decor and space
- Tile the shower walls all the way up to ceiling
- Convert the shower opening to the other side
- Change out the electrical outlets and rework wiring to accommodate new lighting and outlets
- Update plumbing for the new walk-in shower and remove/seal the plumbing for the old bathtub
- Install new tile floor, cabinets, countertop, grab bar in the shower
This project was challenging, as we had to completely remove the old bathtub and convert that space into an open area for the client to utilize. Ultimately, we were able to deliver the project on-time and on-budget. This particular remodeling project stands out as a great example of what you can do with a mid-point between modern contemporary and traditional classic styles. The details and style of the light gray cabinets balance both elements wonderfully. Overall, we were happy to enhance to beauty of this bathroom, and the client absolutely loves it.
