About This Project

We had a lot of fun with this project, as it allowed us to flex our creative muscle and design an upscale, trendy farmhouse style kitchen in this suburban home. The homeowners from Helotes had recently bought a home that was built in 1980 and needed to get an update in the worst possible way. They’d been wathcing a lot of HGTV and were big fans of the style of homes popularized by Joanna Gaines, Fixer Upper and Magnolia Market. With that in mind, we decided to completely renovate and remodel the kitchen and help give them a taste of the style and look they liked so much.

We started by picking out the perfect pieces to complete the look. The white cabinets made a great match for the dark wood-colored tile flooring, and we even went one step further to pick the perfect farmhouse style kitchen sink and faucets to bring the appeal together. With our great selection of options, and our affordable pricing, we were able to come in well under the homeowner’s budget for the project. Once we’d determined the right colors, styles and materials, we went out for a measurement and then started the demolition.

One part of the project that was challenging, however, was working with the older, more antiquated plumbing and electrical that the house had used. Because of the time in which the house had been built and the codes and ordinances at the time, there was a lot of work we had to do just to get the new features up to code. However, we managed to work through all the updates and were even able to install the cabinets, flooring, tile and countertops within our original timeline. Overall, we took a small, outdated space and turned it into a little piece of farmhouse-style heaven for this semi-rural homeowner.
