Converse Kitchen

About This Project

Kitchen Cabinet: Framless – Midnight Espresso

Kitchen Countertop: Quartz – Arctic White

Backsplash – Mosaic Glass Tile

This is one of our favorite recent projects here at New Generation Kitchen & Bath! Since many of the homes in the Converse area were built in the 1980s-1990s, a great majority of them are due for updates and renovations in the kitchens and bathrooms. The same can be said for this particular client. For this project, we were tasked with helping remove the old, pale wood colored cabinets and laminate countertops with new, modern touches that work to give the room an updated appearance. The client wanted to achieve a look that would both fit with modern style, and be timeless and consistent enough to last for years to come.

After meeting with the client in our beautiful San Antonio kitchen remodeling showroom and going through all the color combinations and styles (using our kitchen visualizer), we were able to put together the perfect combination of colors and surfaces to help create the aesthetic that the homeowners were looking for. The customer wanted to keep some of the same touches and feel, but with an updated spin. As such, we decided to keep the white color in the countertops, but add a darker color of kitchen cabinet and a touch of mosaic glass tile for the backsplash around the sink area. Once we’d completed the planning stage, we started with the demolition of the old cabinets and countertops. We removed the entire structure, so that we could build from scratch and make sure that all the elements fit correctly.

Once we got started on the construction, the process went very quickly. In fact, we finished the project several days ahead of schedule, as well as hundreds of dollars under the client’s maximum budget. With our help, this outdated Converse kitchen got a facelift that was aesthetically appealing, quick, and affordable. Overall, our customers were thrilled with the colors and the surfaces. Their cabinets are more appealing and more functional, and the new quartz countertop gives them an affordable, resilient stone surface where they previously had settled for premade laminate.
